WHAT IS ALMA HARMONY?

Alma Harmony is a multi-technology laser and light platform that allows different treatment modalities to be selected according to the skin concern being treated. At PMAC, our Harmony treatments include ClearSkin Pro, ClearLift Pro, VascuPen, Harmony BioBoost and laser tattoo removal.

Rather than using one treatment for every concern, Harmony allows us to choose a treatment approach that matches the target within the skin. Treatment may be directed toward acne, skin texture, selected pigmentation, visible superficial vessels, signs of ageing, overall skin quality or tattoo pigment.

Every treatment begins with an individual consultation and skin assessment. Not every modality is suitable for every skin type or concern, and the recommended treatment, settings, treatment course and expected downtime vary.

ClearSkin Pro

ClearSkin Pro is a non-ablative laser treatment that delivers controlled thermal energy into the skin while integrated cooling helps protect the skin surface. It may be considered as part of a treatment plan for active acne, acne-related textural change, enlarged or visible pores, uneven skin texture, fine lines and general skin rejuvenation.

Treatment process:

1. Assessment

Your skin, acne history, current products and medications, previous treatments, recent sun exposure and treatment goals are reviewed. Clinical photography may be performed.

2. Preparation

The skin is cleansed and appropriate laser eye protection is applied. You may be asked to modify specific skincare products or avoid sun exposure before treatment.

3. Treatment

The handpiece is passed over the treatment area and controlled laser energy is delivered into the skin. Patients commonly describe warmth, heat or a prickling sensation.

4. After treatment

The skin may be mildly pink, warm, sensitive or slightly swollen. Visible downtime is usually limited compared with ablative resurfacing, although individual responses vary.

5. Treatment course

A series of treatments may be recommended depending on the concern being treated. Acne may also require appropriate medical or topical management

ClearLift Pro

ClearLift Pro is a non-ablative Q-switched laser treatment used for selected pigmentation, uneven skin tone, skin rejuvenation and fine textural concerns. It delivers rapid pulses of laser energy beneath the skin surface, with little or no removal of the outer layer of skin.

Not all pigmentation should be treated with laser. Pigment should be assessed before treatment, particularly where melasma, atypical lesions or other complex pigmentary conditions are possible.

Treatment process:

1. Assessment

Your pigmentation, skin type, sun exposure, medical history, medications and previous laser history are reviewed.

2. Preparation

The skin is cleansed and protective eyewear is applied.

3. Treatment

The handpiece delivers rapid laser pulses to the treatment area. Sensations can include gentle warmth, tapping, tingling or a brief snapping feeling.

4. After treatment

Many patients experience little visible downtime. Temporary redness, warmth, mild swelling or sensitivity can occur. Treated pigment may temporarily darken before fading.

5. Treatment course

A series of treatments may be recommended. Response depends on the type, depth and cause of the pigmentation or skin concern.

VascuPen

VascuPen is used for precision treatment of selected small superficial vascular lesions. Laser energy is directed toward haemoglobin within the vessel, producing controlled heating of the vessel while minimising treatment of surrounding skin.

It may be considered for small facial telangiectasias, broken capillaries, selected spider veins and other appropriate small vascular lesions following clinical assessment.

Treatment process:

1. Assessment

The lesion is assessed to confirm that vascular laser treatment is appropriate.

2. Preparation

The skin is cleansed and appropriate laser eye protection is applied.

3. Treatment

Individual visible vessels are targeted precisely. Treatment can feel like a small hot pinprick or brief sting.

4. After treatment

The area may be red or slightly swollen. A vessel may temporarily look darker or more prominent before it fades, and small areas of crusting can occasionally occur.

5. Treatment course

More than one treatment may be required. Treated vessels can recur and new vessels may develop over time.

Alma Laser Tattoo Removal

Laser tattoo removal uses Q-switched laser energy to target tattoo pigment. The rapid pulses fragment some ink particles into smaller particles, which are then gradually processed by the body over time.

Different tattoo colours and ink compositions respond differently. Complete removal cannot be guaranteed, and some tattoos may be suitable only for partial fading. Cosmetic tattoo pigments can behave unpredictably and require additional assessment

Treatment process:

1. Assessment

The tattoo is assessed for colour, density, depth, location, age, skin type, previous removal attempts and any underlying scarring. Photography and, when appropriate, a test area may be recommended.

2. Preparation

The treatment area is cleansed and appropriate laser eye protection is applied.

3. Treatment

Laser pulses are delivered over the tattoo using settings selected for the pigment and skin. Treatment may feel like repeated snapping, stinging or heat.

4. Immediately afterwards

Temporary whitening or frosting can occur. Redness, swelling and tenderness are common, and blistering, pinpoint bleeding or crusting may occur.

5. Treatment course

Tattoo removal usually requires multiple sessions spaced sufficiently apart to allow healing and pigment clearance. The number of sessions varies substantially between tattoos.
